Background:
As long-time Top 40 outlet Q-104 suddenly gave way to Noble Broadcasting's new "Young Country 104" format on the FM band, the AM half of the duopoly picked up the format as well. The move brought to an end the station's affiliation with the Z-Rock satellite network. The simulcasting arrangement continued for just over a year, until Noble would launch what was then the market's fourth talk radio station, Talk 1030.
